- The multi-age classrooms enhance the working and learning that is matched to the social development of the child.
The multi-age grouping of children corresponds to Maria Montessori’s theory of child development, which is rooted in a three-year cycle. In the multi-age setting, the children learn both from each other and because of each other. Younger children get a chance to look ahead and see what is coming next by watching the older children. Older children have the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge by sharing it with the younger children.
- Peace Education is integrated throughout the curriculum in all areas of the school.
Children attending the school are exposed to a method and practice which facilitate the growth of inner discipline and later complex reasoning through free choice, organized use of didactic materials within an atmosphere of grace and courtesy.
- Outdoor Learning is articulated horizontally at every level of the school.
Our living learning gardens allow students to experience nature and the interdependencies that Dr. Maria Montessori professed in the “Cosmic Curriculum.”

Oaks Montessori School is dedicated to the nourishment of the creative process in every child. Students attending OMS are exposed to visual and performing arts as well as problem-solving techniques in their daily learning experiences.
